Tift tennis sweeps Brunswick on the road

TIFTON — The Tift County Blue Devil tennis teams dominated the Brunswick Pirates in Friday action at Brunswick, with both boys and girls squads winning 5-0.

For the Devils, Collin Summerlin defeated R. Austin, 6-1, 6-1. Quay Clark won his match over Z. Boone, 6-0, 6-1 and Bailey Lawson shut out J. Nichols, 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, Bennett Gibbs and Dillon Kemeness defeated J. Lillisten and C. Davis 6-0, 6-1 and Grant Cordle and Matt Marsh defeated B. McGee and B. Highsmith, 6-0 and 6-0.

The Lady Devils saw Taylor Whitehead defeat K. Doughtrey 6-0, 6-1. Keri Lee Futch won straight sets over J. Wiley 6-0, 6-0 and Jordan Hill won over T. Bass 6-0, 6-0. The doubles team of Heather Saddler and Rebekah Crumley defeated A. Courtney and L. Barber 6-0, 6-0 and Rachel Wall and Megan Bowen won in a forfeit.

 Both team will be in action today at 4 p.m. against Thomas County Central. There will be junior varsity matches after.
