Hollis Lee McEntyre

IRWIN COUNTY — Hollis Lee McEntyre, 57, of Irwin County, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Donnie Sloan officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Mr. McEntyre was born March 13, 1956 in Colquitt County to the late Homer James and Mildred Peacock McEntyre. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Watts. Mr. McEntyre was a former employee of Kelley Manufacturing, Exopack and National Housing Management. He was a loving husband, father and brother.  He especially loved his granddaughter, Leah, who affectionately called him “G Pa”. Mr. McEntyre loved to make people laugh and was known to be a good friend to those who knew him. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. McEntyre is survived by his wife, Lillie Barnes McEntyre of Irwin County; one son, Benjie McEntyre of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Shane McMurphy of Tifton; one granddaughter, Leah McMurphy; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ray McEntyre of Ocilla and Tommy and Barbara McEntyre of Omega and two sisters, Ann McEntyre of Lenox and Shirley Ragan of Tifton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tift County Commission on Children and Youth, 418 N. Ridge Ave., Tifton, Ga. 31794. You may sign the guest registry at www.albritton-beaumontfuneralhome.com. Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
