Tift Gymnastics Academy wins at National Challenge

TIFTON — Tift Gymnastics Academy participated at the National Gymnastics Challenge recently. TGA had several individual athletes places as well as the top overall finish from the Level 8 team. The event took place from March 7-9 at the Ramsey Center at the University of Georgia.

For the winning Level 8 participants, Elyssa Roberts was 1st on vault, 2nd on bars and 1st all-around. Kaylee McDonald was 2nd on bars and floor, 3rd on beam and 2nd all-around and Lyndsee McDonald was 1st all-around and on beam, 2nd on vault and Kenzie Carpenter won 1st all-around and floor and was 3rd on vault and bars.

TGA's top individual performers at the meet included Level 9 gymnasts Khloe Parker and Anna Sumner. Parker was 2nd on vault, 1st on bars, 1st on floor, 3rd on beam and 2nd all-around. Sumner was 2nd on vault.

Charlotte Robinson placed 2nd in the Level 7 vault.

Level 6, consisting of Emma Bryan, Grace Clements and Lauren Klofach, participated in their first USAG competition. Bryan was 3rd in the child age division all-around.

In Level 3, Brayden Callison won 1st on floor and vault. Rebecca James took 1st place on bars and beam and tied for 3rd in the all-around.

TGA is now preparing for the Georgia USAG championships.
