Hardwood Classic to feature Tadric Jackson

TIFTON — Only days after a trip to Macon where Tift County won the state championship, Tadric Jackson will be off again today. He will be heading to Orlando, Fla., to participate in the 16th annual Florida vs. Team USA Hardwood Classic at the Amway Center.

Events takes place from today through Saturday. He will have the opportunity to compete not only in the Classic, but also in the NBA City 3-point Shootout and a slam dunk contest. The teams will have the opportunity to witness the shoot-around between the Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards and will be recognized on-court at halftime.

He will be one of 10 members of Team USA, where he will be joined by such Georgia talent as Ahmed Hill (Aquinas) and Jakeenan Gant (Effingham County) as well as other national players. Previous alumni of the Classic include Tim Hardaway Jr., Glen Rice Jr. and Shane Larkin.

Jackson, who signed with Georgia Tech in 2013, scored 601 points for the Blue Devils this season and averaged 18.2 points per game. In the semifinals against Norcross, he had a season high 35 points.
