Devils demolish Coffee at home opener

TIFTON — The Tift County High Blue Devils hosted the Coffee Trojans in the first home match of the season Tuesday. It would be a successful day for both Tift teams.

Shawn Watson’s varsity rolled over their opponents, 52-21, while the junior varsity of Russell Coker triumphed over the Trojans, 21-18.

Dylan Musgrove earned a major decision, going all three periods for a 17-3 final. Nick McCall pinned his opponent and Jake Pratt scored a 4-2 victory. Quinn Campbell and Jimmy Scarborough both had quick afternoons, pinning their competition in the first period.

Rayder Schemmel also won his match by pin and senior Gunner Schemmel won with a tech/pin. Devin Lewis scored a shutout in his match, 4-0.

The team has duals today at Macon. Next week, they have senior night against Turner County Tuesday before hosting the Blue Devil Invitational Saturday.
