Wayne Sutton


Wayne Sutton, 68, of Lenox passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 810 Ebenezer Church Road, Tifton with the Rev. Larry Stone, the Rev. Jim Williams, the Rev. Ken Potts and the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Mr. Sutton's family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel.
He was born February 2, 1946 in Lenox to the late Aubrey Leon Sutton and Zeta Mae Turner Sutton. He lived in Berrien County for most of his life and worked for JP Stevens for twenty-five years and also farmed and worked in construction. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and also served as a deacon.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Fletcher Sutton of Lenox; two sons and daughters-in-law, Derrick and Tammy Sutton of West Berrien Community, and Chad and Leslie Sutton of Colbert; a daughter and son-in-law, Reita and Johnny Harnage of McDonough; five grandchildren, Kayla Sellars of McDonough, and Kevin Harnage, Kyle Harnage, Kristy Purvis, and Austin Sutton, all of West Berrien; a great-grandson, Daniel Sellars of McDonough; a brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Carolyn Sutton of Tifton; and  two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gayle and Fred Killian of St. Simons Island and Mary Beth Schwenter of Nashville.
