Ronald “Ronnie” Lloyd Gibbs

CORDELE — Ronald “Ronnie” Lloyd Gibbs of Cordele passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Cordele First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mr. Gibbs was a native of Cordele and the son of the late Lloyd Ples Gibbs and the late Judy Newell Gibbs. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chance Gibbs. He retired from Crawford and Company following 30 years of employment. He then worked for and retired from Independent Adjusters. Following his retirement, Mr. Gibbs loved spending time riding his green tractor and spending time on the family farm in Wilcox County. He also loved fishing, hunting and golfing with his buddies. He was a member of Cordele First Baptist Church and Pine Hills Country Club. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Gibbs is survived by his wife, Tere Adams Gibbs of Cordele; his children, Shannon Gibbs and his wife, Rebecca, of Canton and Angela Smith and her husband, Mike, of Cordele; his brothers, Jeff Gibbs and his wife, Lisa, of Tifton and Harris “Sonny” Gibbs and his wife, Shirley, of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; three grandchildren, Evan Smith, Shelby Gibbs and Tyson Gibbs; and several nieces and nephews.
