Rants & Raves - February 4

To the person following the bus on Ferry Lake Road: Get used to it. The bus drivers turn the students in to the schools and nothing gets done. Not all schools are like this but most are. The administrators don't want to bother with it. If they do apply discipline then the parents complain and it is revoked. If enough citizens would complain long and loud, maybe someone would hear them and something would be done.
Imagine a Tifton where “All ordinances... should… apply to the entirety of the city...” What fun! A nightclub next to you. A hog farm across the street from me. A steel mill downtown. The possibilities are endless!
In response to the ranter that gets his "news" from Fox News; we should all understand that Fox News is an entertainment network. And as one that gets his news from both the right and left, both TV and print, I often find "reporting" on Fox even comical. As for the rest of the media "hiding" the Benghazi affair, it is probably because the House Intelligence Committee found no wrong doing in its final report, even though the ambassador turned down offers for reinforcements twice. Of course, you won't that on Fox News.
To the person who wants someone to run against our mayor: Unfortunately, we see politicians in all levels of government who get into politics to be more powerful and rich. Once in office they use their political connections and influence for personal gain. Elected office attracts the egotistical and self-centered, not those who are interested in serving their communities. Yes, I am talking about our very own elected officials.
