Fillies have Saturday tripleheader

TIFTON — Florida did not quite look like the Sunshine State Friday for the ABAC Fillies. They were to have started their season that day in a pair of games, but inclement weather cancelled both. Their original plan to play two games Saturday was altered and they began the first of three games in the morning.

In the season opener, they destroyed Broward College, 10-1. Their big boost came in the 3rd inning, when 7 runs crossed the plate. The game went 5 innings. Maiah Talmage had a pair of RBIs and Lakyn Souter had 3 hits. Taylor Boyett picked up the win.

The second game against St. Petersburg College, ended in a 3-0 defeat. The teams were even with 5 hits each, Melveshia Wright collecting two. Rachel Hill struck out four.

They were scheduled to go against St. John's River in a late afternoon game.
