Vivian Hester Fletcher

TIFTON — Vivian Hester Fletcher, 74, of Tifton, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Tift Memorial Gardens with Dr. Danny Ray officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30  p.m. today before the service at Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Ms. Fletcher was born June 4, 1939 in Hillsboro County, Fla., to the late Robert and Ella Wells Hester.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheryl Wilson, and two brothers, Thomas Hester and Milton Hester. Early in her life, Ms. Fletcher worked at Fitzgerald Underwear and later worked as a nurse’s assistant at several nursing homes. She loved to play cards, work crossword puzzles and animals, especially her dog, “Biscuit.”

Ms. Fletcher is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kim Ray of Franklin; a daughter, Patricia Fletcher of Tifton; her cousin and caregiver, Shirley Drexler of Tifton; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Ann Hester of Adel; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and an uncle, Thomas C.
