Northside drops Turner County

ASHBURN — The streak is over for the Turner County Rebels and Lady Rebels. Playing home against Northside of Warner Robins Tuesday night, both squads were defeated by the Eagles.

The Lady Rebels had a huge 4th quarter, scoring 13 points, but fell 43-38. The Rebels lost in a wild one, 86-84.

The Rebels led 47-45 at intermission but Northside went on a 15-4 run to start the 3rd quarter. Turner pulled back to within two as the period ended, but both teams scored 20 in the 4th.

Quan Hillmon had 17 to lead the attack. Nate Martin added 14 and Shaquil Baldwin had 11.

The Turner girls opened a 14-9 lead to start the game, which included two 3-pointers from Xariah Office. They increased the margin to eight at halftime, 21-13, but Northside scored 15 in the 3rd to take control of the game.

Mylashia Yancey hit for 16 points and was 10-13 from the free throw line.

Both squads are now 14-3. They attempt to new start a new streak when they resume region competition tonight at Lanier County.
