Dorothy Bodiford Harrell

HARTSFIELD — Dorothy Bodiford Harrell, 87, of Hartsfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at  2 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paula Lewis and the Rev. Tammy Fincannon officiating. Interment will follow at Hartsfield Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dale Underwood, Michael Underwood, Joshua Darby, David Underwood, Brannon Underwood, Murray McDearis, Lamar Harrell, Darren Harrell and Jeff Wilson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born July 22, 1926 in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late Frank Jefferson Bodiford and Jessie Eloise Tucker Bodiford.  She was a homemaker and was a member of Hartsfield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Lamar Harrell.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherrell H. Darby and husband Jon of Hartsfield, Vickie H. Adcox, and Tammie H. McDearis and husband Audie, both of Albany; three grandchildren, Joshua Darby of Milledgeville, Annie M. Dutton and husband Matt of Austell, and Murray McDearis of Albany; one great-grandchild, Jack Oliver Dutton; one brother, Franklin Bodiford and wife Carline of Tifton; three nieces, Leigh Wilson and husband Jeff of Rebecca, Joy Seabrook and husband Charles of Whitesburg, and Lori Betts and husband Craig of Lenox.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hartsfield United Methodist Church. Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
