H.G. Spradlin

TIFTON — H.G. Spradlin, 91, of Tifton, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wayside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Mr. Spradlin was born Dec. 2, 1922 in Heard County to the late James G. and Evie Hester Spradlin. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Louise Conner Spradlin, who died in 2003; a daughter-in-law, Nadine Spradlin; and four brothers and five sisters. Mr. Spradlin retired from the Coastal Plains Experiment Station. He attended Wayside Baptist Church. Mr. Spradlin enjoyed coon hunting, farming and animals.

Mr. Spradlin is survived by a son, Donnie Spradlin of Dothan, Ala.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley and Glynn Tawzer, Elizabeth Hardin of Tifton and Bonnie Hester of Enigma; one brother and sister-in-law, H.L. and Kay Spradlin of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Zelma and Joe Conger of Tifton; one brother-in-law, Ted Conner of Fayetteville; four sisters-in-law, Eleanor Taylor of Good Hope, Patsy Spradlin of Irwinville, Betty Spradlin and Gelene Spradlin both of Fitzgerald; seven grandchildren: Tubby and Kim Tawzer, Lydia White, Danette Spradlin, Jason and Amanda Hardin, Greg and Teresa Hardin, Nikki and Ryan Wiggins and Billy and Meghann Hester; 11 great-grandchildren, Mandy and Josh Alley, Brandon and Allie White, Kelly and Evan Clark, Glynn and Haley Tawzer, Adam Tawzer, Sydney Hardin, Grace Anne Hardin, Laura Hardin, Emma Hardin, Colton Wiggins and Ava Wiggins; four great-great-grandchildren, Reid White, Nora Taylor White, Caden Alley and Cailan Alley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
