Mattie Collier Moncrief

TIFTON — Mattie Collier Moncrief, 97, of Tifton, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Golden Living Center. Graveside services will be held at 6 p.m. today at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie. Her nephew, Danny Moncrief, will give the eulogy.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until time of service at the cemetery.

Born March 26, 1917 in Moultrie to the late George Greene and Eula Whittington Collier, She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert “Jimmy” Moncrief; a son, Ricky Moncrief; a brother, Ted Collier and a son-in-law, Benny Allen. Mrs. Moncrief was a beautician and she retired from the Colquitt County Tax Assessor's office. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Moultrie. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and watching the Atlanta Braves.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Allen of Tifton; daughter-in-law, Kathy Moncrief of Highlands, Texas; grandchildren, Kye Eaton, Brooke and Brandon Whittlsey and Brandi and Ryan Baker; great-grandchildren, Makenzi Bruce, Fynlee Baker, Lexi Baker, Tessa Whittlsey and Chloe Whittlsey. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 105455, Atlanta, GA 30348-5455. You may sign the guest registry at www.albritton-beaumontfuneralhome.com.
