More details released on Monday crash on Hwy. 82

Monday's wreck on Highway 82 near Tri-County Road resulted in the injury of an Enigma woman who had to be airlifted to Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.

The accident, which involved a 1994 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 56-year-old Bonnie Faye Baldree of Enigma, occurred shortly before noon. Georgia State Patrol was dispatched at 11:53 a.m. The Tifton-Tift County Fire Department, Tift County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Medical Services, along with several bystanders, assisted at the scene.

Trooper Richard Kennedy with Georgia State Patrol said Baldree was traveling westbound on Highway 82 into town Monday morning. Someone called in and reported that she was all over the roadway, traveling back and forth into the inside and outside lanes before striking a road sign.

Kennedy said Baldree continued west and left the road again, traveling down a ditch at Tri-County Road. She then hit a culvert at a private road leading into the business RB's Used Cars & Trucks. When hitting the culvert, Baldree grazed a light pole and went airborne. She jumped the private road and struck a parked 2012 Dodge Charger that was for sale by RB's Used Cars & Trucks. Kennedy noted Baldree grazed the Charger as her vehicle was going over the top of it.

Her vehicle then overturned several times before coming to rest in the ditch in a wooded area. Kennedy said Baldree did have her seat belt on. At press time, he didn’t know the extent of her injuries. Also, he said they don't know at yet what caused Baldree to wreck.
The investigation is ongoing.
