Dr. Freddie Ford "Fred" Lamb Jr.

NASHVILLE — Dr. Freddie Ford "Fred" Lamb Jr., 68, of Nashville died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Finn, the Rev. Barry Brooks, the Rev. Bob Ellis and Dr. Danny Ray officiating.

Interment will follow at Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held  from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Lovein Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 17, 1945 in Dothan, Ala. to the late Freddie Ford and Freddie Mae Armstrong. He was a retired educator with the Valdosta City Schools after 30 years of service, and was a member and Director of Music for the Nashville United Methodist Church for 18 years, as well as an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bobette Brooks Lamb of Nashville; a daughter, Lacey (Gary) Wynn of Nashville; son, Jeremy  (Holly) Lamb of Newburgh, Ind.; brother, Vinson Lamb of Augusta; sister, Gloria Lastinger of League, Texas; three grandchildren; and a special aunt, Dorothy Lamb Oaks of Ashford, Ala.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Fred Lamb Cancer Fund c/o the Nashville United Methodist Church.

Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
