ADEL — Mrs. Doris Giddens, 79 of Adel, passed away at her residence on June 8, 2014. Mrs. Giddens is survived by her husband, L. B. Giddens, three sons and a daughter-in-law: Bruce Giddens, Stan and Robin Giddens, Hank Giddens, all of Adel; and one daughter, Cindy Atkinson of Conyers. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, with the Rev Ike Jefferson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com. Rosters, voodoo doctors topics at Kickoff to Men’s Health
In addition to the local football coaches speaking Saturday at the Tift Regional Medical Center's Men's Health Event at the YMCA, three others from the area also spoke, Buddy Nobles of Irwin County, John Gamble of Turner County and Jason Strickland of Fitzgerald. Discussions ranged from the more conventional topics of scrimmages and rosters to stranger mentions of voodoo doctors.
