James Bradford Johnson

TIFTON — James Bradford Johnson, 77, of Tifton died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Benjy Varnell will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the service Thursday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Johnson was born March 11, 1937 in Tate and was the son of James Littleberry and Elise Bradford Johnson, both deceased. He was the owner of Tifton Insurance Agency and a member of Tifton's First United Methodist Church. He was past president of the Tifton Kiwanis Club and was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Bramblett Johnson of Tifton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dan and Kim Johnson of Valdosta, Steve and Nicole Johnson of Athens and Brad Johnson of Oregon; two sisters, Yvonne Penland of Ellijay and Betty Johnson of Smyrna; and five grandchildren, Alden Bass, Amelia Johnson, Mac Johnson, Quinn Johnson and Elise Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a favorite charity.

Condolences may be sent to the family at the online guest registry at www.bowen-donaldson.com.

Services for the Johnson family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
