Tony Owen Tucker

TIFTON — Tony Owen Tucker, 56, of Tifton died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Steve Luke will officiate with burial to follow at 4 p.m. Monday at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens in Moultrie.

Caleb Boyd, Mark Erskine, Blayne Erskine, Joey Selph, Jeff Schmandt and William Buster Barnes will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Monday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Tucker was born on Nov. 6, 1957 in Grady County and was the son of Billie Pate Tucker of Moultrie and the late Owen Titus Tucker. He was a supervisor in the tool and die department at Master Craft in Tifton. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.

Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Galinda Sue Erskine Tucker of Tifton; a son, Austin Owen Tucker of Tifton; a daughter, Brandi Shalayne Tucker of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Darrell Graham of Moultrie; a sister, Connie Gay of Thomasville; and a granddaughter, Autumn Karalee Wood.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Saving Grace Ministries, c/o Rev. Steve Luke, 805 E. 40th St., Tifton, GA 31794.

Condolences may be sent to the family at the online guest registry at www.bowen-donaldson.com.

Services for the Tucker family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

    LEOs and first responders honored at banquet

    A room full of local law enforcement and first responders were honored Thursday night by the Tifton Elks Lodge at their annual Public Safety Officer Appreciation and Awards Banquet for their service in the community.
    Prior to the awards being given out, Louise Spradley, who organized the banquet, welcomed everyone, and the invocation and pledge were led by the Tift County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.
