Wayne Leon Simmons

TY TY — Wayne Leon Simmons, 52, of Ty Ty, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at his residence.

A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jimmie Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Mr. Simmons was born July 23, 1961 in Tifton to the late Marvin and Sara Garrett Simmons. He grew up in Lenox and attended Tift County High School. Mr. Simmons worked in construction and was a rental property manager. He was known for his grilling and barbecuing to help raise money for different fundraisers and charities. Mr. Simmons loved animals, music and playing the guitar.

He is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gary and Mary Anne Simmons of Tifton and Don Simmons of Valdosta; one sister and brother-in-law, Mara and James Page of Virginia Beach, Va.; three nieces, Kate Taylor of Freeport, Fla., Sarah Mikel Bean of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Jessica Clarke of Richmond, Va. and one nephew, Devyn Page of Atlanta.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tift County Animal Shelter, 278 GA Hwy 125 S., Tifton, GA 31794.
