Tiftarea’s Spinks shines in GISA All-Star game

TIFTON — Joseph Spinks capped off a fantastic career for the Tiftarea Academy Panthers Saturday when he took the field to participate in the GISA’s annual North vs. South All-Star game at Mercer’s Anderson Field.

Spinks, who amassed over 250 tackles over his career, was also named to the GISA’s Class AAA All-State team this year.

He was one of the 30 players selected for the South squad at the All-Star game. His biggest highlight came on the opening kickoff when he forced a fumble at the 2 yard line and returned it for a touchdown. It would prove to be the game-winning margin, as the South took a 49-45 victory.

Spinks had 6 tackles in the game, including one for a loss.

He is the son of Michael and Marcie Spinks.
