Dorothy Lee Crosby Coleman

TIFTON — Dorothy Lee Crosby Coleman, 88, of Tifton died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Georgia Memorial Park, located at 200 Cobb Parkway S.E., Marietta, GA 30060, with the Rev. Trisha Senterfitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Active pallbearers are Jerry Hill, Jimmy Hill, Mike Coleman, Chris Cox, Adam Santiago and Cary Santiago.

Ms. Coleman was born July 25, 1925 in Pavo to the late John and Lillian Holcombe Crosby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Daniel Cox and James Robert Hill, and also two brothers and a sister

 She retired from the boy’s department of Belk Hudson’s, where she loved helping the people she encountered and the families she served during the 28 years she worked. Ms. Coleman was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of her home and family.

Ms. Coleman is survived by her children, Jerome J. Hill of Lexington, Ky., Jimmy D. Hill of Ellijay, Michael D. Coleman of Tifton, Debbie Coleman and David Pond of Jacksonville, Fla. and Pamela L. Coleman of Macon; 11 grandchildren, April M. Corbett, Chris Cox, Hannah Vaughn Coleman, Julie Hill, Matt Hill, Angie Tatum, Robin Stabell, Kristin West, Lisa Paige Coleman, Adam Santiago and Cary Santiago; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 6852 Belfort Oaks Place, Jacksonville, FL 32216, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
