Firehouse Subs set to open in Tifton

TIFTON —

Firehouse Subs will open its doors in Tifton July 8, bringing 40 jobs and a new franchise to the area.
The local restaurant is part of the popular Firehouse Subs franchise, which began 18 years ago and has over 600 stores across the country. Tifton will be the 70th location in Georgia.

The Tifton location, located just off Interstate 75 on the Eighth Street exit, will be open 10:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and will be open an hour later on Fridays and Saturdays. The Tifton restaurant will also be unique in that it will have a drive-thru service. The Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting July 8 at 9 a.m. before the store officially opens at 10:30 a.m.

“We’re excited to have Firehouse Subs in Tifton and are especially pleased with the local jobs they will provide,” said Brian Marlowe, president/CEO of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce.

“Firehouse’s investment in the Tift County community is indicative of the business-friendly environment and strong economy that we enjoy locally.”

The Tifton Firehouse Subs, like all of their locations, will sport a firehouse motif and authentic firefighting décor. The company was started by the Sorenson family with decades of fire and police service and it now boasts franchises throughout the country. The success of Firehouse Subs has earned the company recognition from Zagat, Entrepreneur Magazine, Fast Casual Magazine and Franchise Times.

Firehouse Subs also has a strong commitment to community service with its Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Since its inception in 2005, the Foundation has donated over $6 million in equipment and resources to police, fire and EMS departments across the country.
