Rants & Raves - July 18

TIFTON —

Tift County certainly did an expedient job of trimming the trees on Whiddon Mill Road with the rotary cutter mounted on the excavator, but frankly it looks like you raped the trees with the frayed limbs that leads to rot and decay.   I applaud you for the work you've done so far, but do send some men in with chain saws to cut the limbs back to the trunks so they can heal correctly.

Anyone notice the tacky signs popping up downtown?

Citizens of Tift County have been had again. By the time you read this, the school board will have passed their repressive "insurance tax" to you after their token hearing to satisfy their "obligation"  to open government. You lose ... education lobby wins. Retirees will flee this county and only the disadvantaged will remain for you to support.

To the man talking about signs. Don't leave Henry Tift Myers out who flew the Sacred Cow for some presidents.

Are we supposed to be proud of how Kip Moore handled that scalper? I sure am proud of him for using that many expletives on Twitter when he has thousands of fans, many young and impressionable, following him and what he says on social media. Educated people should be able to handle problems like this without resulting to trashy language like Kip Moore did.

Is someone really insinuating that teachers have nice cars because they make a lot of money? What a stupid thing to say. Anybody can get a nice vehicle if they are smart with their money, save up, and remain responsible after putting a down payment on it.
