Richard Alexander

TIFTON — Richard Alexander, 84, of Tifton departed this life May 12, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church with a repast to follow at the church social hall.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Southview Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Alexander was born on June 10, 1929 in Eldorado to the late Cleo Alexander and Josephine Pettiford. He lived in Georgia as a child and then moved to Jersey City, N.J. at the age of 16. After his retirement from Clark Equipment in 1993, he returned back to his hometown of Tifton.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his son, Lorenzo Alexander. He is survived by his five sons, Richard Alexander Jr., Lawrence Alexander, Norman Alexander, Kevin Alexander and Richard Mack.
