Mr. Jessie "Dunk" Walter Cone

FITZGERALD — Mr. Jessie "Dunk" Walter Cone, 68, of Tifton, died at his home, July 5, 2013.  He was born April 1, 1945 in Lenox to the late John Carroll Cone and Janie Alma Meads Cone.  Mr. Cone lived most of his life in Cook and Tift Counties.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Cone was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver for Major Transport.

Mr. Cone is survived by his wife, Evelyn Marie Trowbridge Cone of Tifton; a son and daughter-in-law, John Herald Cone and Kelly of Egg Harbor, N.J.; a daughter, Teresa Dillard of Tifton; six grandchildren, Johnathon and Jordon Dillard, as well as Matthew, Daniel, Jacob and Aaron Cone of Egg Harbor; a brother, Leon Cone of Lenox; and a sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Tawzer of Tifton.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil Meads, John Henry Cone, Jimmy Cone and Dale Cone; and two sisters, Virginia and Patricia Cone.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon, Monday, at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. Graveside services

will be held at  Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m., Monday, with Chaplain Jimmy Albritton officiating. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
