Lady Devils smash Colquitt in region match

TIFTON — The Pink Day celebration for Tift County tennis saw the Lady Devils tickled pink. They defeated the Lady Packers of Colquitt County 4-1, in a Region 1-AAAAAA battle. The Devils would fall by the same score.

The No. 1 and No. 2 singles and doubles teams all posted victories. The former came from Taylor Whitehead, who won 6-1, 6-1 and Keri Lee Futch, who won 6-2, 6-2. Heather Sattler and Rebekah Crumley had a 6-3, 6-2 win in doubles and Megan Bowen and Rachel Wall also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.

Quay Clark posted the only boys triumph. His score was 7-5, 6-0.

Both squads were scheduled to face Bleckley County Wednesday in a makeup of Monday's rainout. They are scheduled to play at Coffee this afternoon at 4 p.m., also in a region match.
