Jackson is No. 2 dunker

TIFTON — Tadric Jackson of the Tift County Blue Devils basketball team took his skills to the national level this past weekend when he competed in the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships that took place in Duncanville, Texas. Jackson, who was invited because of his dunking skills, came in second in the contest after advancing to the final round.

His score was just three points short of the winner, Grayson Allen, from Jacksonville, Fla. Allen scored 40 to Jackson's 37. He just edged Victor Law for runner-up status. Law scored 36.

He competed against five other athletes. Four participated in the final round. He and Allen look to be future rivals as he is a Duke commit. Jackson is headed for Georgia Tech.
