Rodney Dexter Humphries

WORTH COUNTY — Rodney Dexter Humphries, 48, of Worth County died May 1, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Jones will officiate.

Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens with military honors.

A native of Pelham, Mr. Humphries grew up in Albany, graduating from Albany High in 1983. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Colorado and served in the Desert Storm. He had resided in Worth County since 2001 and was employed by the Georgia Department of Transportation, where he was a highway maintenance foreman. Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by his father, L.J. Humphries, and a brother, Wendell Humphries.

Survivors include his mother, Geraldine Howell, and his stepfather, Lynwood Howell, of Albany; a daughter, Alicia Pollard of Worth County; two sisters, Debra Atkinson and her husband, Ray, of Ashburn and Amanda Williams and her husband, Greg, of Leesburg; two brothers, Larry Humphries of Worth County and Mark Humphries and his wife, Kim, of Albany; and 14 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence of Geraldine and Lynwood Howell, 5419 Newton Road, Albany.
