Jackson, Holland named to GACA team

TIFTON — The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association recently named their Class AAAAAA South All-State team and according to Dr. Eric Holland, it makes for even more recognition for the state champion Tift County Blue Devils.

The Devils only had a single player named, but he took home the biggest honor. Tadric Jackson was named Player of the Year.

Jackson averaged 18 points per game, including a season high of 35 in the semifinals against Norcross. He was named first team All-State, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Player of the Year, to MaxPreps' 5th team nationally and even participated in a nationally broadcast slam dunk competition.

Holland himself was named Coach of the Year.

The remainder of the team included Jaylen Brown (Wheeler), Kyle Castlin (Hillgrove), Rashad Lewis (Valdosta), Sam Daniel (Camden County) and Shawntrez Davis (Tri-Cities).
