Wanted man a 'danger to society'

TIFTON — A Tifton man is being sought by the Tifton Police Department for aggravated assault.

According to a press release from Lt. Lee Dunston with the TPD, the department has obtained warrants on Demario R. Carridine, charging him with aggravated assault. These warrants stem from the investigation into a shooting incident on March 28 in the area of Elm Street and Bellview Avenue.

Dunston warned that Carridine is considered armed, and anyone having information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or their local law enforcement agency. He said the conduct Carridine displayed in the incident being investigated shows he has no regard for anyone in the area if and when he sees someone he wants to shoot.

"He is a true danger to society," says Dunston.

Carridine is known to have ties to Tifton/Tift County, Ashburn/Turner County, Valdosta/Lowndes County and Americus/Sumter County.
