School closings...

Tift County Schools

Based on the most current weather information available and consultation with local authorities, the decision has been made to close Tift County Schools for Wednesday, January 29, due to potential dangerous travel conditions caused by Winter Storm Leon. All students, faculty, and staff will not report to work January 29, 2014.

A decision regarding Thursday student and staff attendance will be made Wednesday. There is a possibility of no school for students and a late start for staff on Thursday. Be on the lookout for this announcement by 1 p.m. on Wednesday. We will post the decision here on Facebook, Twitter and our website, send call-out messages to parents listed in Infinite Campus and will let local media outlets know.

Based on the most recent Natural Weather Service update, the decision has been made that all ABAC classes beginning at or after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 are cancelled. The Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College campus will close at 4 p.m. All campus evening activities are cancelled for January 28 and 29. The campus will remain closed on Wednesday, January 29 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, January 30 unless otherwise notified.

All dining services will remain open. The ABAC police department will also operate as usual and can be reached at 229.391.5060.

Should there be additional information, it will be shared via email, ABAC homepage and campus alert. An updated weather recording can also be heard by calling 229.391.5225.
