TCSO on the lookout for armed suspect after Thursday night theft

TIFTON —

The Tift County Sheriff's Office is asking for help after an armed robbery on South Central Avenue in Tifton.

Deputies were dispatched Thursday night about 11 p.m.to the Chevron at 3119 South Central Avenue in response to a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers were told a black male, armed with a hand gun and wearing a hoodie, mask and gloves, held a clerk and two coworkers at gunpoint. 

The clerk said the suspect ordered him to put all the money from the cash register into a bag. After taking the money, the suspect fled the store on foot.

The TCSO is asking anyone with information contact the department at 229-388-6021. Sgt. Jason Barber has been assigned the case.
