Hiring fair set this week

TIFTON — The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services, are hosting a hiring fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sixth Street Academy, located at 805 W. Sixth St. The department has partnered with Tift County Schools.

The hiring fair is looking for economic support specialists ($24,322) and economic support associates ($23,181). Economic support specialists serve as interviewers, processors or keyers and provide timely and accurate services and benefits for SNAP (food stamps), TANF and Medicaid customers. Economic support associates serve as the local "directors of first impressions" in each county and provide timely and accurate assistance to customers presenting in the lobby.

Interviews will be conducted on site. Those interested are asked to bring their resume and credentials. These are full-time, hourly positions. Upon successful completion of all background checks and training requirements, employees are eligible for a generous benefits package, flexible scheduling and a commitment to quality of life/work balance.

Required qualifications include education, experience and credentials, such as a high school diploma or GED equivalent and two years related experience, completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter hours from an approved accredited college or university in a related field and one year or equivalent part-time work experience that involved customer contact/interaction as a regular part of the position.

Those who are unable to attend the hiring fair or to review other available openings, visit and apply online at www.dhsjobs.org. DHS is an equal opportunity employer.
