Tifton native wins Young Artist Award

TIFTON — Nine-year-old Tifton native Caitlin Carmichael won a Young Artist Award earlier this month for her work on Sony's "Chosen," airing on Crackle.com.

The daughter of Tom and Catherine Carmichael of Tifton, Caitlin won the Lead Actress in a Web Series award.

She was nominated, in addition, for her role in the film "Weiner Dog Nationals."

This was not Caitlin's first Young Artist Award. In 2013, she won two  awards for Best Performance in a Voice-Over Role (Television); in 2012, she won Best Performance for Supporting Young Actress in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special, for her role as Kyra Devore in Stephen King's "Bag of Bones; and she received additional nominations in 2012 and 2011.

Caitlin has made numerous appearances on television, including guest spots on the hit shows "Suburgatory," "Criminal Minds," "The Neighbors," "CSI: Miami" and "True Blood."

She's also appeared in several films, including "The Wicked," "Lizzie," "The Dog Who Saved Christmas Eve," "300: Rise of an Empire" and "Art and Soul."

In addition, Caitlin has also done voice-over work on the children's shows, "Doc McStuffins" and "Special Agent Oso."

She has appeared in numerous print advertisements for Ralph Lauren, Disney, Lord & Taylor, Ann Taylor LOFT and Toys 'R Us. She also graced the cover of Hudson's Magazine.

Caitlin is an accomplished dancer and singer as well, and plays the piano. While in Tifton, she took gymnastics classes at Dream It Gymnastics and studied dance at Carolyn Ellis School of Dance.
