Ronnie Moore

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Ronnie Moore, 67, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. passed away May 10, 2014 after a sudden illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Emerald Coast Funeral Home with interment to follow at 1:15 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, located at 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Mr. Moore was born Sept. 28, 1946 in Ocilla and spent his childhood in Brookfield. He later moved to Fort Walton Beach to live close to the beaches he loved. He attended Tift County High School, went on to graduate from the University of Georgia (Go you Hairy Dawgs!) and later received his master's from the University of West Florida. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Ronnie loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, riding his motorcycle and watching his New Orleans Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Lott Moore and Charles William Moore; and his brother, Carroll William Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Yvette Moore; his children, Kevin (Tricia) Moore of Shalimar, Carmen Moore of Fort Walton Beach, Melissa (George) Masterson of Crestview and Woody (Angi) Moore of Crestview; four siblings, Harold Moore of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Cherrie (Jerry) Musselwhite of Brookfield, twin brother Donnie Moore of Loganville and Charles Arnold (Lynda) Moore of Macon; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 75 Building Fund, 898 E. James Lee Blvd., Crestview, FL 32539.
