Tift County Commissioner Melissa Chevers will once again head up her “One Street At A Time” cleanup, which is designed for the public to help beautify the community. The cleanup is planned for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the corner of Whiddon Street and Fourth Avenue.
There will be free snacks, fun and five drawings for a chance to win $50, a $25 gift card to LongHorn or a $25 gift card to Red Lobster.
All students are encouraged to volunteer, says Chevers. She wants the community to show their support by volunteering with her.
Chevers started the “One Street At A Time” cleanup, which she calls her baby, in 2006. She says it’s always been a passion of hers.
