TIFTON — At the Tift County Pre-K Center, Valerie Poppell’s class has been learning about community helpers. As part of this unit, her class enjoyed a visit from community helpers including Dr. Sam Featherston and Dr. Catherine Featherston. During their visit, Dr. Sam Featherston discussed the importance of washing hands to keep from spreading germs. He also told the students how important it is to get vaccines. The students enjoyed seeing different medical instruments and receiving a few goodies from Tift Regional Medical Center promoting healthy living. Tifton native hopes to be Home Free during ‘Sing-Off’
Returning Monday night for a fourth season is NBC’s a cappella singing competition, “The Sing-Off,” which will feature Tifton native Austin Brown.Continued ...
Performing with the group Home Free, 27-year-old Brown says he couldn’t ask for more or be more excited to have been given the opportunity to compete on the show.
“There’s no other platform like this for a group like Home Free,” he told The Tifton Gazette in a phone interview.
