Roger Gravitt

ASHBURN — Roger Gravitt, 65, of Ashburn died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the High Hill Baptist Church in Ashburn. Burial followed at the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Gravitt was born in Rochelle and was the son of the late Paulos Levi and Mary Eunice Willingham Gravitt. He was a member of the High Hill Baptist Church and a retired farmer. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Gravitt.

He is survived by his wife, Janann Passmore Gravitt of Ashburn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jana G. and Christopher Goss of Florence, S.C. and Lisa G. and Jamie Penoncello of Tifton; his brother and sister, Jerry (Brenda) Gravitt and Paula (Wray) Reid of Ashburn; and two grandchildren, Will Penoncello and Abby Penoncello of Tifton.
