Wright named Student Financial Services Director

TIFTON — Michael Wright has been named Student Financial Services Director at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, according to an announcement by ABAC President David Bridges.

“Wright comes to his new position at ABAC with much experience in financial aid and we look forward to having his knowledge at the College,” Bridges said.

A Cordele native, Wright received a BBA from Georgia Southern University in 1992 and earned his M. Ed from the University of Georgia in 2008. Wright has been an employee at South Georgia Technical College since 1995. He has served as the Director of Financial Aid since 2007. He began his 19-year career as the financial aid assistant, working at the Crisp County satellite center where he managed the financial aid office and bookstore. In 1999, he moved to the position of Admissions Director of the Crisp County Center working in recruiting, community relations and student activities.

“I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to serve the students of ABAC. The Student Financial Services office plays a critical role in supporting student retention and academic success at the institution by informing students of available resources and, also, of the academic responsibilities that are required to retain eligibility for aid,” Wright said. “We want our students to know that we care about them and I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues to assist ABAC students with their financial planning for college.”
