Rants & Raves - September 13

In response to Thursday's rant: If you do not like the skin color of the criminals in Tifton, then volunteer and clean up these neighborhoods and get at risk youth out of the streets. The Gazette catches a lot of grief for a lot of things but I certainly don't think they show a preference for African-American mugshots over any other ethnicity.
To the ranter complaining about smoke and suggesting the ones on the rural outskirts think about it before they burn: You clearly do not have any idea of where you live. Tift County has a heavy Ag base. Farmers around here will burn for the good of their crops, and I highly doubt the fact that the smoke is bothering your cup of coffee on a nice Monday morning is going to bother them.
Discriminating against young black boys for shooting and stealing? Are you kidding? You should be more concerned with their victims who are being discriminated against. Side note, young white boys who shoot and steal get their pictures in the paper also.
Kudos to Honey Brown! Thank you so much for sharing your 9-11 experience with our students and staff!
Thanks, Honey Brown for a job well done!
Dear abortion supporter: I'm sorry you are offended. I will be more than happy to assist you as much as I can with expenses for your unwanted children. (I think I already do through taxes, etc. ) However, please explain why am I responsible for your poor choices? Not judging, just asking.
Honey Brown, Sixth Street Academy receptionist: hats off to you for a job well done with yor 9-11 presentation.
To the person who sent in the "Twist and shout, Democrats" rant: Yes, the 44.4 percent was actually a tax increase for the people who pay property taxes in the city.  It was a millage increase for everybody else. Get your facts straight before making accusations against another person.
Dear county roads crew: Could you please fix the holes on Central Avenue in front of Somerset Apartments? We’ve been begging for it for months. There’s grass growing in the holes. Surely it can’t take that long to at least fill the holes with gravel. Do your job already. We’ve waiting for this repair long enough.
