Rants & Raves - April 4

We must repeal the 17th amendment and go back to having our Legislatures select, send and even recall our U.S. senators when they fail to represent the wishes of their states. The 17th amendment is why we have Obamacare today. Democrat senators from conservative states would not have defied their constituents if they could have been called home and replaced.
We would like to thank the wonderful people who live around the Forest Lake Golf Course for their help in our search for our missing chihuahua. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Southern hospitality at its best. God bless you all.
Since we are still blessed with hearing we would like to request a train bypass around Tifton. It does not make sense anymore to have no passenger trains and still have them running through town with their noise and often dangerous cargo next to schools and people’s houses. How many more will wake us up and stop daily traffic in Tifton, once the Savannah port deepening project is ended? Now is time to request and plan for the train bypass.
The city would or should have the authority to abate a nuisance such as a dead tree that might fall on somebody's house or head.
