Warming station to open in Tift County

TIFTON —

Tift County will be opening a warming station tonight and Tuesday night to provide a warm, safe place for those who have nowhere else to go.

Vickie Hickman, deputy director with Tift County Emergency Management, said the station isn't a Red Cross shelter, so no meal will be provided, but snacks and a bathroom will be available.

The station, which is located at 2737 South Central Avenue, will be open from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. tonight and Tuesday night. There is limited space available.
