Lattie Gene Futch

TIFTON — Lattie Gene Futch, 83, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Tifton. Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors and the Rev. Jim Wiley officiated. Interment l followed at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers were Nathan Moore, Ryan Futch, Billy Griffin, Danny Griffin, Michael Hart and Richie Strickland. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Day Smith, Jerry Hobbs, Wes Shannon, Stacy Aultman and Guy Haynes.

Mr. Futch was born April 11, 1930 in Tattnall County to the late Eugene and Delilah Johnson Futch. He retired from Union Camp. As an outdoorsman, Mr. Futch enjoyed fishing, gardening and keeping up his yard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who also enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and many years ago, enjoyed golfing.

Mr. Futch is survived by his wife of 64 years, Merle Griffin Futch of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lattie Gene Jr. and Lisa Futch of Tifton and Keith and Theresa Futch of Eldorado; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gayla and Rick Moore of Richmond Hill and Joan Parker of Asheville, N.C.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terrell and Linda Futch of Glennville and Jerry and Jean Futch, of Milledgeville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Roland Waller of Bloomingdale and Gloria and Gene Hart of Rincon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
