Two players, one coach in North-South game

TIFTON — Two area players and one coach have been selected to go to this year's Georgia Athletic Coaches Association's North-South All-Star game, which will be played in Columbus on Monday. The game will be at A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium at 2 p.m.

All three individuals are from Region 1-AA: Berrien's A.J. Wooten and Fitzgerald's Antonio Wilcox are the players. Wilcox is a 6'2, 191-pound defensive back. Wooten, who has committed to play for Central Florida, is listed as a 6'5, 250-pound offensive lineman. Joining them in Columbus will be Ken Cofer, who until recently was head coach at Cook. He went 32-15 over four seasons, making the playoffs each year.

Region 1-AAAAAA is sending five players to the game from three schools. Valdosta's Nelson Herring (RB) and Darius Sapp (DL) have been picked as well as Trey Jackson (LB) and Dyshon Sims (OL) from Lowndes and Colquitt County's Gabe Mobley (OL).
