Eighth Street Middle School Devils wrestling splits matches Wednesday

TIFTON — Eighth Street Middle School traveled to Lowndes County Wednesday and split a pair of matches with Pine Grove and Ware Middle. They were defeated by Ware, 60-49, but defeated Pine Grove, 44-36.

Against Ware, Eighth Street’s Josh Hamrick, Bronson Lott, MIke Jones, Mason Sellars and Seth Spillers had pins to win their matches.

Point winners were Reece Watson, 12-5; Ryan Dotson, 11-7; Tyler Gay, 4-1; and Wesley Hodnett, 5-2.

Four team members had pins against Pine Grove, Mason Strickland, Lott, Stewart Taylor and Garrett Westberry.

The following wrestlers scored point victories, Bryce Hancock, 8-4; Dotson, 6-4; Cody Waldschlager, 5-2; Alex Cain, 8-4; Braeden Baldwin, 11-2; and Jonathan Villafranca, 6-0.
