Elizabeth Stevens Duckworth Smith

TIFTON — Elizabeth Stevens Duckworth Smith, 84, formerly of Tifton, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 in Evans. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. K.C. Stevens Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Irwinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Albritton – Beaumont Funeral Directors.

Kevin Duckworth, Trae Stevens, John Paul Duckworth Jr., Brad Duckworth, Brandon Harper, Clay Harper and Brice Duckworth will serve as pallbearers.

Born August 4, 1929 in Grady County to the late Kellie Cecil Stevens and Hattie Lee Stevens, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her husbands, Charles E. (Dick) Duckworth and Harold Reginald Smith; daughter, Sylvia Duckworth Harper; brother, Herschel Stevens; and sister, Laverne Stevens Sutton.

Mrs. Smith lived at 409 Belflower Road in Tifton for most of her life but spent the last year in Evans surrounded by friends and family. She was a loving mother and homemaker for most of her life.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her brother, the Rev. K.C. Stevens Jr. of Augusta; four children, Janice Stevens of E. Dublin, Charles Duckworth, John Paul Duckworth Sr. and Ivan Duckworth, all three of the Augusta area; 13 grandchildren, Kevin Duckworth, Trae Stevens, Wendy Hatcher, John Paul Duckworth, Brad Duckworth, Brandon Harper, Amie Wheatley, Natalie Duckworth, Clay Harper, Anna Harper, Brice Duckworth, Haley Duckworth and Lauren Duckworth; and 18 great-grandchildren.
