Eldon Stanley Haas

TIFTON — Eldon Stanley Haas, 91, of Tifton, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the home of his niece, Gail Fleming.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Haas was born January 8, 1922 in Grandview, Wash., to the late Frank J. Haas and Charlotte Thorpe Eakin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lola Haas; his stepfather, Frank Eakin; one brother, Norman M. Haas; and two sisters, Lois Deming and Margie Clewett.

Mr. Haas was a sergeant in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the John Deere Battalion. He was owner/operator of Haas Western Wear. Mr. Haas was also a rancher who loved anything to do with rodeos, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Haas is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank H. and Gloria Haas of Tocoma, Wash.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
