TIFTON — The Tifton Bass Busters recently held their 2013 annual awards banquet to honor their Top Six Members for the year. Chad McMurrian, finished first, taking the coveted “Angler of the Year” award. Wayne Morgan took second place, just ahead of James Kushmer, who captured third. Fourth place went to Dave Pettis, as Steve Brown took spot number five. Veteran angler, Ed Newton, filled in slot six, maintaining his presence in the elite group for yet another season. Dave Lowry netted the Largest Bass of 2013, a Lake Eufaula largemouth that weighed over 7.5 pounds.

Trojans get one hit, but win region title
If high school baseball games lasted six innings, Zack Bullard would have had a no-hitter and the Tift County Blue Devils would have been on top of the region standings. It was the last inning that cost both player and team. Coffee only had one hit, but it was all they needed for a 2-1 victory that clinched the 1-AAAAAA title.
