Devils dominate Westover

TIFTON — The Tift County Blue Devils dominated the Westover Patriots, 89-67, in the second part of a basketball doubleheader Saturday night.

Brannen Greene finished with 30 points to lead the Devils, who also received contributions from Ladarius Stewart with 17, Ali Vaughn with 14 and Donell Tuff with 13.

The next games for the Devils and Lady Devils see them journey to Bainbridge on Friday, Dec. 7.

  • McMinn, Beier shut down Glenwood

    The Tiftarea Academy Panthers mustered only five hits Monday night, but that would be enough for them. Behind the arm of Noah McMinn, clutch hitting from Zach Beier and a big trick play, they bested the Glenwood (Ala.) Gators by a 2-1 score.

  • Panthers ready for region track championships

    Through early Tuesday, the track team at Tiftarea Academy knew they would be participating at a region track meet today. They just were not sure where.
    Coach Ryan Branch said Monday that the meet was scheduled for Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany, but if the event it was hosting was rained out Tuesday, TIftarea would be the hosts. The rains came, but it was not enough to change plans. Branch confirmed Tuesday afternoon that they would be on the road.

  • Blue Devils to host region track meet

    Tift County High will be abuzz Thursday. There will be the normal ringing of school bells and student vehicles in and out. Over at the track, there will be a flurry of colors and several extra buses. The Region 1-AAAAAA track meet is happening and the Blue Devils are the host.

  • Winners of Team Fitness & Wellness Challenge announced

    Rehabilitation Services of Tifton and Tifton Fitness & Wellness Center recently put on the 1st annual Team Fitness & Wellness Challenge.  The team weight loss competition was held to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Tift County, raising $2,025.

  • Blue Devils defeat Camden, Lady Devils fall

    Injuries took their toll for the Tift County Lady Devils soccer team against Camden County in Kingsland Friday night, but the boys pulled out a 4-1 victory.

    The golf team at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College took home second place at the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XVII Golf Championship earlier this month at Bagby State Park in Fort Gaines.

  • Marlowe mashes two in Tiftarea blowout

    Just two days after the Tiftarea Academy Panthers defeated the No. 1 Deerfield-Windsor Knights in Chula to take the region lead, they took on the Westwood Wildcats in Camilla. It was not a long trip to Westwood, as Tiftarea only needed four innings to win, 17-1.
